* Peter Mcloskey - 3.10 at VLM…very happy after busy work period and tummy issues on race day….nice pb moment Peter and big well done from all of us.

* Georgia Wood - VLM...continued her return to running with a strong run of 3:02 despite several unscheduled stops and Mat Chataway ran a brilliant new PB of 2:39 - both are looking forward to further progression in Autumn. Adharanand Finn also struggled with some tummy problems during the race and whilst not the time he was looking for held it together to bank another strong run in 3:08 as he builds up to some big challenges later this year.

* Becky Gallop - VLM...overcame foot pain to run a brilliant new PB of 2:57 with almost even splits across the race to finish 51st.

* There were more Guinness World Records for Victoria Carter who again raced in fancy dress this year as a Nun and having fun after recent injury….finishing in 3.26!

Donato Esposito had his first experience of when the marathon bites back! Donato put in an incredibly brave run having been hampered by piriformis syndrome from 10km onwards...and Kevin Bryne also battled strongly to finish on a hot and challenging day.

* Ian Hunter - Manchester pb …..2.42 great progress for Ian after illness over the past 12 months and plenty of smiles at the finish with his family!

* Chris Goodwin - Brighton - ran a fantastic new PB of 2:48. Chris is a guided runner who has been classified as blind since his mid 30's. This was a brilliant run from Chris in the tough conditions.

* David Percy - Brighton - came in at 3:49:59 bagging a ten minute PB in tough conditions, finishing strongly....looking tired but happy at the beach finish!

* Theresa Jones ran a comfortable race at 4:43:41, whilst she didn't enjoy the heat, she still made sure she got the job done

* Will Rawling - Tokyo Marathon…..capped a good block of training with a new pb of 2.49, well done Will - excellent progress.

* Michael Gilbert's marathon debut at VLM saw him pull out a very strong run, getting a superb time of 2:48:31 - he's now looking to step back to 5km-half marathon racing after excellent progress with his coach Siobhan this year. * Rich Duft-Tytler enjoyed his first marathon experience at VLM and despite 4 weeks of injury he ran a very good race coming in at 4:34 and raised lots of money for his charity too.

* Sorrell Walsh - Boston Marathon…was first British female and ran a brilliant new PB of 2.54….on a day when the heat put paid to many other PBs and even the elites found it very tough going. Aaron Walker, Olivia Shanks and Matthew Walker also tackled the famous Boston course - whilst none got PBs it was a day to be proud to hold it together and get those 26 miles in the bank. Well done all.

* Sam Cornforth - VLM 2.43 pb and very happy….went off a little fast but held it together and ran strongly to ensure that sub 2:45.

* Susanna Harrison - VLM….3.10…5th V50 and very happy. No pb but another solid and strong marathon and consolidating her position as one of the UKs best masters marathon runners.

* Cecilia Siruffo - VLM….pb and great run but agonisingly just missed sub 3….3.00.14 great result and should be very proud. Looking forward to seeing you smash though the 3 hour barrier next time Cecilia and big week done.

* The marathon is also an event where sometimes the right decision is a professional one to look after your body and know when to step off. Fiona McRitchie - had to stop due to sore calf and we wish her a speedy recovery VLM. Peter Flew - sensibly stopped at half way as his injury niggle had returned. This had been an issue over the past week or two leading into race day after some great training. Very wise to stop and fight another day…well done and George King, hampered by piriformis syndrome made a sensible decision to step off early at London and focus on a good new season ahead.

Becky Gallop crossing the line for her first sub 3!
